The Unfiltered Studios Artist Page:

Why It Exists

Think of this as our collective's experimental lab. It’s a home for the tracks that are too "out there" for a standard release, but too good to stay on a hard drive.

Purpose of this space

  • Zero-Pressure Creative Freedom

Standard artist pages can feel like a cage. Here, you can experiment with new sounds, genres, and styles without worrying about "ruining" your main profile’s aesthetic or listener data.

  • The Power of the Collective

We’re using this space for Collective Drops. These are massive collaborations where the energy of multiple artists fuses into one project.

“You’ll be asking afterward who contributed what—and we might be right there with you.”

  • A Home for the "One-Off" Creator

Not everyone wants to be a full-time musician. If you have one great song in you and just want the world to hear it, this is your platform. You provide the creation. We handle the distribution.

  • Identity & Branding Control

We value your privacy and your brand. We can release music under:

    • Stage Names: Keep your personal life private.

    • Aliases: Build a sub-brand specifically for a different genre.

    • Anonymous Credits: Let the music speak for itself while we manage the backend.

FAQ

  • It doesn’t! That’s the beauty of it. By releasing through the Unfiltered Studios page, these tracks won’t appear on your personal Spotify or Apple Music "Latest Release" section unless you specifically want them to. It’s a clean break that protects your main brand’s algorithm.

  • Not at all. We fully support stage names and aliases. If you want to drop a heavy metal track but your main brand is Lo-fi hip-hop, we can set you up with a secret identity so you can create without borders.

  • You do. We are here to provide the platform, the distribution, and the community. We’ll handle the "boring stuff" like getting the track onto streaming platforms, but the creative soul of the song remains yours.

  • These are high-energy projects where we bring as many voices together as possible. Sometimes it’s a verse, sometimes it’s just a background harmony or a beat contribution. It’s about the final sound, not the individual ego. We’ll credit everyone involved in the metadata, but the face of the project is the Collective.

  • Yes! This page is specifically designed for "one-off" creators. If you’ve made something you’re proud of and want to share it with the world without the pressure of "launching a career," you’ve found the right home.

  • If you have a track that’s sitting in your files or an idea for a wild collaboration, just reach out to us. We’ll listen to the vibe and figure out the best way to get your sound onto the page.

Who This Space Is Built For ?

  • The Genre-Bender For the established artist who wants to pivot—like a folk singer diving into hyper-pop—without "confusing" their main profile’s algorithm or alienating their core fanbase.

  • The Collaborator For those who thrive in a crowd. Join massive collective projects and "mega-collabs" where the goal is shared energy rather than complex administrative hurdles.

  • The Shadow Artist For ghost producers or writers ready to step into the light under a fresh alias, allowing for total creative reinvention while keeping their personal identity private.

  • The Occasional Creator For the hobbyist who has a "one-off" masterpiece in them but no desire to navigate the pressure of a full-time music career.

Frequently asked questions about money

Will I be paid? Who receives the money?

You’ll just need a DistroKid account (which is about $10/year for collaborators) to claim your bank, and then the money flows to you automatically. we will help get you set up and go over this with you

This is the "million-dollar question" (or at least the "few cents per stream" question).

Will I be paid for my music? Yes. If your track generates revenue through streams, downloads, or sync licensing, you are entitled to your share of that income. We don't believe in "exposure" as a substitute for payment.

How does the money get to me? We use automated payment splitting through our distributor (like DistroKid or Stem). This means:

  • Direct Deposits: When we upload the track, we input your email and your percentage.

  • Transparency: You get your own login to see exactly how much your track is making.

  • No Middleman: The distributor pays you directly. Unfiltered Studios never touches your share of the money once the split is set.

  • Who decides the percentage? Before any track goes live, we agree on a "Split Sheet."

    • For Solo Tracks: You receive the vast majority of the payout, minus a small percentage that stays with the studio to cover distribution fees and promotion.

    • For Collective Drops: The "pie" is divided among everyone who contributed. If 10 people are on a track, the revenue is split 10 ways (or based on the size of the contribution).

What if I use an alias? You can still get paid! Your payment account (with your legal name/tax info) is private and only seen by the distributor. Your public-facing name on the track can be whatever you want it to be.

A Quick Note on "The "Unfiltered" Goal

While we ensure everyone is set up to get paid, this page is primarily about creative exploration. Most experimental tracks or one-offs won't buy you a private jet overnight, but we make sure that if a track "goes viral," every artist involved is legally and financially protected from day one.
